The DH, Social Care and Public Health Transition Board met on 17 July 2012 and discussed the following:

1 Introduction
The Chair of the DH, Social Care and Public Health Transition Board asked all Board members to review minutes to ensure they are an accurate reflection of the previous meeting.
There were no open actions from the previous meeting.
2 Programme Overview
The Deputy Director for the Transition Programme presented an overview of the programme to the Board. The update included a summary of programme status and progress as well as a discussion on governance arrangements.
The Chair asked the SRO for Public Health System & Public Health England and the SRO Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) for an update on vaccinations and immunisations and on EPRR. Board members agreed that communication to staff at a local level for these services is crucial.
3 Public Health Allocations
The SRO for Governance & Accountabilities provided an update to the Board on public health allocations. Issues discussed included the need to engage with relevant parties and the timings of the announcement.
4 Future DH Programme Stocktake (including Shared Services)
The SRO for DH Transformation & Arm’s Length Bodies (ALB) Transition presented the Future DH Programme Stocktake to the Board.
The SRO for DH Transformation & ALB Transition presented the Shared Services Stocktake to the Board. The Board agreed that this work was in a much improved state, with clear leadership.
5 ALB Transition
The SRO for DH Transformation & ALB Transition presented an update to the Board on ALB Transition. The update formed two parts: an overview of the ALB Transition Programme, including the closedown of organisations, and the ALB ‘state-of-readiness’ reviews.
6 Next Meeting
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday 18 September in RH Boardroom, 11:00-13:00.
